Who’s Liable for My Damages?
When bringing personal injury or wrongful death claims over bus accidents, plaintiffs must prove that a defendant was negligent in causing their injuries. By showing fault, victims can hold negligent defendants accountable for their role in causing preventable harm and liable for the losses they incurred.
Liability is different in every case, which is why it is best to have yours personally reviewed by a lawyer. An experienced attorney can evaluate the facts of a bus accident and determine the strategies for investigating fault and liability. Examples of parties that may be held liable in bus accident cases:
- Negligent bus drivers who drive distracted or violate traffic laws
- Bus operators that violate safety regulations
- Automakers responsible for auto defects
- Local government or NJ transit involved in public bus accidents
- School districts that negligently hire unfit bus drivers
- Casinos and other companies that offer shuttle services
Most bus accidents are avoidable, but proving that another party was at fault and should therefore be liable for your damages requires investigation and preparation. Our attorneys have the resources to work these cases and help victims pursue financial recoveries for their:
- Medical bills and future medical needs
- Lost wages and future income
- Pain and suffering
- Loss of consortium / companionship
- Other financial and non-economic damages
