Result: Todd Wachtel Secures Six-Figure Settlement for Injured Electrician

285k settlement

Last month, Levinson Axelrod, P.A. Partner Todd Wachtel secured a six-figure workers’ compensation settlement for an electrician who was injured in the course of his employment.

As case records show, Todd represented an electrician who suffered electrical shock injuries while working, including significant and permanent injuries to his hands.

Because there were significant differences of opinion as to the nature and extent of the worker’s injuries, as well as issues involving insurance, the matter was scheduled for trial in Lebanon, NJ. In preparing to litigate the case, Todd worked with medical and fact witnesses who were prepared to testify at trial. However, the carrier offered a fair resolution to the claim prior to the trial date.

Thanks to Todd’s willingness to litigate and his work preparing expert witnesses, he was able to secure a settlement totaling $285,000 for his client.

Todd D. Wachtel is a NJ Supreme Court Certified Workers’ Compensation Attorney and former Deputy Attorney General who represented the State of New Jersey in Workers’ Compensation proceedings. In his work fighting for claimants, Todd has leveraged his unique insight to help workers and families recover millions in benefits and compensation following work-related injuries. Todd is also actively involved in the local and legal community, and was elected earlier this year to the State Bar’s Executive Committee of the Workers’ Compensation Section, where he assists in reviewing issues and proposed laws critical to the practice of Workers’ Compensation in New Jersey.
