New Jersey Releases COVID-19 Contact Tracing App

|

On Thursday, October 1st, the state of New Jersey unveiled its new coronavirus contact tracing app, which notifies users of potential exposure to COVID-19.

The COVID Alert NJ app was created in partnership with Google and Apple, and is worth your consideration. According to the CDC, contact tracing is one of the most effective ways to slow the spread of COVID-19 and keep you, your family, and your community safe.

About the App

COVID Alert NJ is a free and secure mobile app that will alert you when you have been near someone who has tested positive for the coronavirus. The app also provides up-to-date information on reopening news in New Jersey, key COVID-19 metrics, and user-friendly symptom tracking.

Google and Apple engineers have utilized secure technology to ensure your privacy is protected. The app does not utilize location tracking, and instead uses Bluetooth technology to send random codes anonymously to alert users if they have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for the virus within the past 14 days. Your name and location are never disclosed.

Our team at Levinson Axelrod, P.A. encourages you learn more about this very important app by visiting the COVID Alert NJ website.

Setting up the app is very easy, and it provides a tremendous amount of information. Over 77,000 of your neighbors have already downloaded COVID Alert NJ, and are checking in daily. The more people that use the app, the better it works. We truly are all connected – now more than ever.
