Our legal team at Levinson Axelrod P.A. is sponsoring Canine Companions for Independence and its upcoming DogFest “Walk’N Roll,” a charitable walk-a-thon that raises support for the non-profit organization. As lawyers who fight for injured victims, and members of the community with friends, family members, and neighbors with disabilities, we know assistance dogs can have an incredible impact on their lives.
The event will be held at Roosevelt Park in Edison, New Jersey on October 7, 2018 from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm, and will feature dog demonstrations, graduate speakers, festivities, and more. Dog owners and those who believe in the power of companionship and service animals are all invited to attend!
DogFest will be raising money to support Canine Companions for Independence, a non-profit organization that provides specially trained assistance dogs to children, adults, and veterans with disabilities free of charge. Since 1975, Canine Companions has been helping open new opportunities and supporting greater independence and confidence by training four types of assistance dogs:
- Service dogs for adults with physical disabilities
- Hearing dogs for individuals who are deaf and hard of hearing
- Facility dogs for clients with special needs in health care, education, visitation, and criminal justice settings
- Skilled companions for children and adults with developmental and cognitive disabilities
