Marisel joins our Levinson Axelrod, P.A. team as a bilingual associate specializing in Worker’s Compensation cases.

If you are unsure of how to navigate through the pitfalls of worker’s compensation, Marisel can help you feel at ease in your journey, patiently explaining the process in detail and guiding you every step of the way. While she will take the time to listen to your concerns, she will also advocate them in an empathetic manner, ensuring that your rights are protected and that you receive curative medical treatment, temporary disability benefits and recover the maximum permanent compensation that you are entitled to receive. Marisel takes a practical approach and will focus on achieving the best resolution in every circumstance.

With over 20 years of experience in handling complex injury claims arising out of workplace accidents, she has a proven track record of achieving excellent results for her clients. Throughout her career as a worker’s compensation attorney, Marisel has represented thousands of injured workers, aggressively championing their right to be heard by providing strong legal representation against uncooperative or even uninsured employers, noncompliant insurance carriers and wayward doctors. She has fought for authorization of the best medical treatment and benefits for clients whose needs would have otherwise been ignored or dismissed by other attorneys.

Being able to properly express your concerns to your attorney can be difficult when you are new to the country. A daughter of Cuban immigrants herself, Marisel shares a passion for advocating for injured workers that have been taken advantage of by their employers or insurance carriers due to their own unfamiliarity with the process or language barriers. She will aggressively ensure that your rights are protected. Her focus is serving the needs of those whose voices cannot be heard, particularly in disadvantaged communities throughout the state.

Marisel obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University and her Juris Doctorate from Seton Hall Law School in 2002. Marisel is a member of NJ State bar Association, The NJ Association for Justice, Monmouth County Bar Association, Justice Coleman Inns of Court – Workers Compensation Section (Monmouth), the New Jersey Council for Occupational Safety and Health (NJ-COSH). In addition to being native Spanish speaker, Marisel is also fluent in French and has working knowledge of German and Italian. Marisel also enjoys volunteer work and serving the needs of the community. In the past, she has volunteered for her church’s homeless ministry (D15:4), Vacation Bible School camps, AWANA programs, Faith in Action ministry, and mentoring Law Students.
