Kathleen DiGiovanni, a Levinson Axelrod, P.A. Partner from our Howell office, recently secured a six-figure settlement for an auto accident victim.
As noted in court records, Kathleen’s client was in her vehicle when the defendant motorist ran a stop sign and struck her car. As a result of the collision, Kathleen’s client sustained herniated discs in her neck and back, which necessitated a two-level cervical discectomy and fusion surgery. She also sustained a rotator cuff tear and meniscus tear and underwent surgeries to her shoulder and knee.
The case was complicated by challenges raised by the defense, which argued that the injuries suffered by Kathleen’s client were the result of degeneration and not the auto collision.
Ultimately, however, Kathleen’s persistence in securing a fair recovery allowed her to secure a $450,000 settlement, which will provide her client with needed compensation to cover her past and future medical expenses and other economic and non-economic losses.
