Michael N. Colacci is an Associate at Levinson Axelrod, P.A. and a Certified Civil Mediator who serves clients throughout Union County, Middlesex County, and the surrounding areas of New Jersey.
Prior to joining the firm, Mike focused much of his practice on labor / employment law and an array of torts and civil injury matters under the New Jersey Tort Claims Act. He has experience litigating civil rights cases involving public entities and officials, including claims of wrongful arrest and excessive force, auto accidents, and other personal injury claims.
Mike’s past work in municipal litigation and insurance liability defense provides injured victims fighting against large corporations and insurance companies with invaluable insight into the “other side.”
Mike earned his Bachelor’s degree from Penn State, where he majored in Business Administration, and his law degree from Rutgers Law School. As a law student, Mike served as an Associate New Developments Editor for the Rutgers Journal of Law and Religion, and was a participant in the Honorable James Hunter III Moot Court Program.
Following law school, Mike served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Lisa Miralles Walsh, J.S.C. in the Union County Superior Court of New Jersey, Criminal Division. During his clerkship, Mike accumulated a wealth of knowledge pertaining to the criminal field, working closely with Judge Walsh and advising her on matters related to criminal motions to suppress / dismiss, and jury instructions.
In addition to litigating labor law and civil rights cases prior to his time at Levinson Axelrod, Mike practiced at a law firm which handled a range of general liability insurance defense matters in New Jersey.
