Rotate and replace your tires often. Low tread on your tires can increase your chances of hydroplaning.
Drive slower than you normally would in rain. The faster speed you travel, the more difficult it will be for your tires to distribute the underlying water.
Avoid driving on areas with obvious puddles and pools of water.
Do not slam on your brakes if you begin to skid, as this can make hydroplaning worse.
Make turns and other maneuvers slowly, as any abrupt movements can cause your car to hydroplane in wet conditions.
