Levinson Axelrod, P.A. Associate Brian P. McElroy, Esq. recently secured a six-figure settlement on behalf of a client who sustained serious and permanent injuries to her spine in a motor vehicle collision. Mr. McElroy was able to obtain our client the full extent of the defendant’s insurance coverage. Our client was stopped in traffic, when she was slammed from behind by another vehicle.
As noted in court documents, the incident occurred in December 2016 when our client, a 56-year-old female, was involved in the collision. As a result of the crash, our client sustained permanent injuries to her neck. Her neck required a procedure known as a cervical fusion; a surgical technique in which vertebrae are joined together in order to stabilize the spine. Though spinal fusion prevents movement at a painful vertebral segment, it also results in a permanent loss of motion.
Attorney McElroy was able to effectively advocate for our client, and force them to offer the full $300,000.00 of available insurance coverage, which represented the maximum recovery available in this case. Brian was ready, willing and able to go to trial if the carrier did not settle for the maximum.
The financial recovery will help compensate for her for her pain and suffering and other economic and non-economic damages including extensive medical expenses.
