Labor Day, the first Monday of September, is a creation of the labor movement
and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers.
It constitutes a yearly tribute to the contributions of workers to our
national prosperity. It was first introduced in New Jersey in 1887. In
1911, the Labor movement also successfully help pass New Jersey’s
Worker’s Compensation laws for those who were injured during the
course of their employment. While they have gone through several amendments,
and interpretations by the Court, these laws have remained the same for
over a long time. If you are injured at work, you are entitled to treatment,
temporary disability benefits while you are out of work, and benefits
for any permanent injury. For over 75-years, Levinson Axelrod handling
New Jersey Worker’s Compensation cases. Even though Labor Day marks
the “End of Summer,” it is also a good time to remember to
celebrate all of the important work done to protect worker’s rights
now and in the future.
