Mr. Wheaton has the notable distinction of being a Certified Civil Trial Attorney in the state of New Jersey. No other NJ attorney has been certified for a longer period of time. He was originally certified over 30 years ago based on the quality of his representation and the strength of his record of results, and he has been continuously re-certified ever since. He is also a New Jersey Super Lawyer, which means he is among the top 5% of injury attorneys in the state. His awards and certifications are made possible through his diligent, relentless service to his clients—work that continues to inspire confidence and peace in his clients today.
In 1964, David graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor’s Degree. While here, he played varsity soccer on a successful and renowned squad. He also discovered his love for sailing, which he continues to this day as a former Commodore of the Weekapaug Yacht Club.
From here, he pursued a Juris Doctorate at Georgetown Law School, graduating in 1967 and immediately beginning his career at Levinson Axelrod. He has spent his entire legal career fighting for the people of New Jersey in personal injury claims. His work has been instrumental to the growth of the firm into the 20-lawyer, 8-office organization it is today.
