David T. Wheaton – Partner

David attended Brown University in Providence, R.I. and graduated in 1964. While at Brown University, David was a varsity soccer player on a team that achieved substantial success and a competitive sailor on a team that did not. Thereafter, David attended Georgetown Law School in Washington, D.C. and graduated in 1967. David joined Levinson Axelrod in 1968 and has never looked back.

In 1982, the Supreme Court of the State of New Jersey designated David as a Certified Civil Trial Attorney. David has continuously been recertified by the Supreme Court as a Certified Civil Trial Attorney and no other attorney in New Jersey has been certified for a longer period of time. This acknowledgement is only given by the Supreme Court to lawyers who continue to demonstrate their ability to successfully handle personal injury claims on behalf of their clients. David is a past president of the Middlesex County Trial Lawyers Association, an active member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum in recognition of his successful handling of million dollar cases. David has also successfully argued important legal issues before the Appellate Division of the Superior Court and before the New Jersey Supreme Court. Working hard and achieving solid results for those injured by the carelessness of others has always been and continues to be his passion.

David is an avid yachtsman and a past Commodore of the Weekapaug Yacht Club, Weekaaug, R.I. During the summer, David can be seen cruising the coastal waters of New Jersey in his 38 foot Sabre Line Hardtop Express. He is married, has four children and lives in Monmouth County.
