Grayzel secures settlement for injured worker on Turnpike
A Levinson Axelrod client was seriously injured working on the New Jersey Turnpike when a milling machine contacted rebar, causing a temporary median barrier to fall on the plaintiff's foot. The worker suffered a crush injury to the right foot and the loss of four toes.
Responsible parties included the N.J. Turnpike Authority, General Contractor Bishop Sinzari, and the project engineer, Stone and Webster. The case was settled for $750,000.

Grayzel secured settlement against Johnson and Johnson for $500,000
A Levinson Axelrod client was seriously injured while leaving the North Brunswick plant of J.& J. on his motorcycle when he was struck in the head by a descending traffic gate. The plaintiff was wearing a helmet and escaped head injuries, but he received a serious neck injury requiring surgery.
Grayzel was able to prove that the manufacturer and the seller of the traffic gate had warned J.& J. not to allow motorcycles to come through the automatic gate because it would descend prematurely. Grayzel was also able to show that J. & J. had painted over the warning on the gate that instructed people not to drive motorcycles through the gate.
The case was settled just prior to jury selection.
