ATTORNEY CERTIFICATION BY THE SUPREME COURT OF NEW JERSEY
We
at Levinson Axelrod are proud of our partners Richard Levinson, David
Wheaton, Ronald Grayzel, James Dunn, Mark Kuminski, Adam Rothenberg and Brett Greiner
who are Certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as Certified Civil
Trial Attorneys. We share the same high esteem for our partners Patrick
Caulfield and Richard Marcolus who are Certified by the Supreme Court
of New Jersey as Certified Worker's Compensation Attorneys
The practice of law like any other business has become specialized depending on the area of law. The New Jersey Supreme Court has recognized that four (4) particular areas of law are particularly specialized. They are the following:
1) Civil Trial Law
2) Workers' Compensation Law
3) Criminal Trial Law
4) Family Law
In order to obtain this "certification", the attorney must go through a rigorous application process and this distinction is held by less than 5% of the attorneys in the State of New Jersey.
At Levinson Axelrod, most of the partners in the firm are Certified in their area of practice. This means that they have handled a significant number of cases in the areas of law in which they practice, they have been endorsed by Judges and other Attorneys by receiving references to support their application. Most importantly, they have passed a specialized test which demonstrates their mastery of the area of law in which they are certified.
The purpose of the Certification title is to inform the public that certain attorneys have a particular area of specialty and have a level of competence that the public can rely upon. Only a Certified Attorney can receive referrals from other attorneys and share a fee because the Supreme Court has recognized that it is in the best interest of the public for individuals to be represented by these attorneys.
