BMW announces it’s largest recall to date

Posted on Tuesday, March 27th, 2012 at 7:03 pm

The German automobile company, BMW, has announced it’s largest recall yet. The recall is an international one and affects roughly 1.3 million vehicles, 367,000 of them being in the United States.

The recall was made due to a defective battery cable connector that can be found in several BMW models. This battery cable connector has the potential to overheat and start fires in the vehicles, even if the car is not in motion. The recall affects BMW Sport Wagons and 5 Series Sedans that were manufactured between June 2003 and March 2010, and also affects the 6 Series Convertibles and Couples that were produced between September 2003 and July 2010.

Letters will be sent to the owners of the defective vehicles beginning in April. They will be notified of the recall, and will be asked to bring their cars to a local BMW dealership to have the problem fixed.

Recent investigation shows Fixodent denture cream may cause nerve damage

Posted on Friday, February 18th, 2011 at 8:08 pm

An investigation done by ABC News shows that there is a link between the use of Fixodent denture cream and permanent neurological disorders.

Users of Fixodent have alleged that using this cream on a regular base has caused them to develop serious and permanent nerve damage. This has lead to a class action lawsuit against the maker of the product, Procter & Gamble. One of the ingredients is zinc, which can lead the b0dy to lose necessary minerals.

The long-term use of this product causes a person to absorb more zinc than the average person. There is another denture cream that has similar accusations, GlaxoSmithKline’s, Poligrip, is also involved in legal issues because of it.
