A man from New York has filed a malpractice lawsuit against Greenberg Traurig LLP, claiming that the law firm dropped his case unexpectedly after slapping him with excess charges.
According to the lawsuit, the man hired the law firm to represent him in a legal case. The man claims that the firm gave him incorrect advice that led him to lose $20,000 in a sanctions order. He also claims that the firm overcharged him by $300,000 and then abruptly dropped his case before trial, without returning his money.
The man is seeking $4 million in the suit, which is what he says he could have made in his original lawsuit if the firm had not dropped him.
