Elderly couple dies in truck accident on Route 130

Posted on Thursday, October 20th, 2011 at 9:46 pm

Last week, an elderly couple from Hightstown was killed in a devastating truck accident on Route 130.  The husband and wife were traveling in a limousine on their way to Philadelphia International Airport when the accident occurred.

According to Bordentown Township Police reports, the accident happened at around 3:45 a.m. last Tuesday when a semi-truck was backing out of a construction site along the southbound lanes of Route 130.  The truck backed into the limo that the couple was riding in.

The 66-year old husband was taken to the hospital where he later passed away in emergency surgery.  His wife, 68, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Our sympathies are with the victims’ family.
