An elderly couple was killed in a car accident in the town of Ramapo.

The man and woman were from Fairview, New Jersey and were traveling on the Palisades Interstate when the 81-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle for unknown reasons.

The car then drove into a wooden median before striking a large tree and coming to a stop. The husband was pronounced dead at the scene and his 79-year-old wife was transported to the hospital where she was later pronounced dead due to injuries sustained in the accident.
