A medical malpractice suit has been filed in New Jersey after the death of a man that went to the hospital after he had an allergic reaction to a bee sting.
The 40-year-old man was mowing the lawn outside when he was stung by a bee in his yard. He suffered an allergic reaction to the sting and collapsed. His neighbor found him foaming at the mouth and rushed him to the emergency room.
The neighbor told a doctor at the hospital that he thought the man had suffered an allergic reaction from a bee sting but the doctors did not see any markings from a sting.
They diagnosed the condition as a heat stroke. He was released and a few days later he decided to mow his lawn again and was stung by another bee. He was rushed to the hospital was died of anaphylactic shock on the way there. The lawsuit claims that the doctor did not consider the possibility of the bee sting and misdiagnosed the man.
Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim.
