Officer Killed While Helping Another Officer

Posted on Monday, January 25th, 2010 at 3:46 pm

On Jan. 16, a Port Authority officer was hit by a motor vehicle and  killed by the injuries he sustained.

The officer who died was a 16-year veteran and was beloved for his helpful ways. He was running across multiple lanes of traffic to help out another officer when he was struck. He was taken to the hospital, but died later that evening. The eastbound lanes of Walt Whitman bridge were shut down while a police investigation took place. The driver of the car who struck the officer has not been named or charged with anything as they await for the results of toxicology reports.
