Texting driver hits cyclist

A driver struck a cyclist Nov. 16 in New Jersey, after being distracted while texting.
The accident occurred on Route 70. Police reported the the female cyclist suffered multiple fractures due to theĀ crash and she was wearing protective gear when struck by the car.
Prescription pills prescribed to someone else were found in the driver’s car. He was charged with intent to distribute the drugs. In New Jersey, texting while driving is illegal. Charges are still pending regarding the personal injury.
