Compensation Benefits (Temporary Disability)

One of the benefits that injured workers are entitled to is called temporary disability benefits. Temporary disability benefits are paid during the time period that the injured worker is temporarily disabled and unable to work. There are however other criteria that the injured worker must meet in order to qualify for these benefits. The worker must:

1) be unable to work

2) be under the care of an authorized workers’ compensation doctor

3) be getting active medical treatment (getting treatment that is designed to cure the condition the worker is suffering from).

Unfortunately, there are many circumstances where the injured worker cannot meet all three of the above criteria. He or she can find themselves out of work with no income. Before you or someone you know is caught in this difficult situation, you should consult a workers’ compensation lawyer.
