UNINSURED/UNDERINSURED CAR INSURANCE

Uninsured/underinsured coverage is a mandatory coverage in everyone’s car insurance. Uninsured covers you and your family for injuries caused by someone with no car insurance or someone that is unable to be identified (i.e. phantom vehicle). Underinsured covers you and your family for injuries caused by someone who has less insurance than you. In New Jersey the law restricts your ability to purchase uninsured/underinsured coverage. You can only purchase uninsured/underinsured coverage that equals the liability comment in your policy. For example, if you have $25,000.00 in liability coverage, you can only purchase $25,000.00 in uninsured/underinsured coverage.

What protects you and your family is the uninsured/underinsured coverage in your policy. By limiting your liability coverage, you are limiting your own families protection.
