APPEALS, WHO PAYS?

Most of the public believe that they have a right to appeal their case should their case be decided in an unfavorable way. Unfortunately, appeals are very expensive and unless your Retainer Agreement with your lawyer includes an appeal, that process could leave you without a remedy, unless your lawyer agrees to take the appeal because he or she believes a true error of law was committed by the Trial Court. Most lawyers will charge a flat fee.

You should check your Retainer Agreement to see if an appeal is included in the contract. Most, if not all retainers do not include this appeal process.
